CRYPTO OVERVIEW
The session has a risk-off tilt, with escalating Middle East shipping and energy-supply risks raising the chance of an oil shock. Crypto signals are mixed: Bitcoin has a corporate-treasury bid, while ETH faces persistent ETF outflows and legacy-holder transfers to exchanges.
BITCOIN
- MicroStrategy bought 250 BTC over the past week at an average $86,194, extending its four-week accumulation streak. The purchase supports the corporate-treasury demand case, though the company’s earlier BTC sales show that its buying is not an unconditional “never sell” policy.
- Bitcoin ETFs recorded $679 million in outflows after a $1.7 billion inflow surge. The reversal tempers the institutional-demand signal; flows remain a measure of positioning, not a reliable price forecast.
ETHEREUM & L2 ECOSYSTEM
- ETH faces a supply-and-demand headwind: early holders transferred 4,393 ETH ($11.1 million) to Kraken, while U.S. spot ETH ETFs logged nine consecutive days of outflows totaling more than $542 million. A break below the closely watched $2,500 level could leave the market vulnerable to further selling.
- The counter-signal is reduced exchange liquidity: Ethereum’s Binance liquidity Z-Score fell to -1.00, a seven-month low, consistent with assets moving off exchanges. That may limit readily available supply, but it does not yet offset the ETF outflows and exchange-bound transfers.
ALTCOINS & SECTORS
- XRP — The XRPL Foundation patched a vulnerability that could have enabled the creation of 18.45 trillion XRP. No unauthorized minting occurred. The intervention prevented a severe supply risk, but bypassing the usual 80% validator-consensus process raises governance questions.
- ADA — Cardano processed more than 1.78 million transactions in five days, its highest activity in five years, as users participated in Voltaire-era governance. Blocks remained dense and fees stable; ADA nevertheless fell 3.58%, underscoring the gap between network use and token performance.
- NEAR — NEAR rose 11% to $6.00 as 24-hour volume nearly doubled to $3.54 billion. A sustained close above $6 with volume holding would strengthen the breakout case; fading volume would make the move vulnerable to reversal.
- ZEC — ZEC is testing $1,190 support after a 27% retreat from its late-September peak. A decisive break could expose the $1,100–$1,000 area; a move above $1,300 on stronger volume would improve the reversal setup.
- DeFi — UNI burn activity has fallen from a reported peak of 190,000 per day to about 4,000, a weak signal for fee-generating activity and the current DeFi-volume narrative.
- AI infrastructure — IREN shares rallied on reports of a potential multiyear cloud deal with Anthropic. This is an equity-sector development, not a direct token catalyst.
REGULATORY & MACRO
- Renewed Houthi attacks on commercial shipping and Iranian threats to the Strait of Hormuz are lifting energy-supply risk. A sustained oil-price shock could tighten broader risk appetite, adding pressure to crypto alongside the uneven ETF-flow picture.
- A reported Russia–Ukraine energy ceasefire remains unconfirmed by Kyiv and Moscow, limiting its value as a de-escalation signal.
POSITIONING IDEAS
Bullish
- NEAR — A long bias is supported by the 11% advance and sharp volume expansion, but confirmation depends on holding above $6.00 with volume sustained.
- BTC — MicroStrategy’s continued purchases provide a corporate-demand tailwind. Treat it as a supportive factor, not a standalone entry signal, given the recent ETF outflows.
Bearish
- ETH — The combination of nine straight ETF-outflow days and legacy-holder transfers to Kraken supports a cautious bias, particularly if $2,500 fails. Lower exchange liquidity is a counter-signal and could temper downside.
- ZEC — A short bias is conditional on a decisive break below $1,190; that would put the next cited support zones near $1,100 and $1,000 in focus.
